Senior Financial Accountant for Swedish entities

On behalf of Pelican Denmark Holding ApS, Basico is searching for an independent and experienced Swedish speaking Senior Financial Accountant for a newly established position in the company’s Nordic Finance department. The position is therefore based out of the company’s headquarters in the centre of Copenhagen.


The position
As Senior Financial Accountant you will report to the company’s Team Leader in accounting and become part of a Finance team consisting of seven helpful colleagues. The culture is characterized by a willingness to engage in sparring as well as cooperation, knowledge sharing and job satisfaction.

In this position you will cooperate closely with the Accounting Operational Team Lead and the Accounts Payable Accountant on accounting related tasks within the company’s 34 Nordic establishments. You will be responsible for the Swedish legal entities.

You will get an independent responsibility for your own tasks related to month-end closing and General Ledger bookkeeping, treasury, audit, statutory reporting and filing. Together with your colleagues you will be responsible for ensuring an efficient and reliable accounting practice and for helping optimize and streamline processes.

 

Your responsibilities and tasks

  • Assist with the month-end closing process
  • Prepare and post accruals
  • Issue and book external invoices, IC invoices and recharging invoices, e.g. management fees
  • Ensure correct coding of supplier invoices in both the invoice approval flow and the ERP system
  • Enter payments in the bank, both manually and by uploading files
  • Manage and authorize repayments to customers
  • Perform Swedish VAT, Corporate Income Tax and annual report submissions

Moreover, you will be expected to assist with the internal audit and external year-end audit as well as with the compilation of annual reports.

In the position, it will be possible for you to bring the experience already held into play as well as to acquire new professional competences. In addition to the regular monthly tasks, you will also get a chance of taking part in various projects.

 

Your profile
You have a bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent and you have several years’ working experience from a similar position as an Accountant.

You have broad bookkeeping experience and a good understanding of period accounting, multi-currency and inter-company transactions. You have a good PnL and balance sheet understanding and, possibly, reporting experience. 

You have worked in an international global environment and are comfortable managing day-to-day transaction and accounting tasks as well as delivering accurate, relevant and timely financial information to management and other stakeholders.

You have excellent Excel skills. Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft 365 Dynamics will be an asset.

As a person you are service-minded, structured and self-driven and have an analytical approach. You focus on details, can keep the overview and can prioritize your tasks and manage fluctuating workloads.

You are team-orientated and contribute to a positive social atmosphere in the team by being friendly and helpful by nature. You are open, honest and kind and you are used to driving your own tasks.

As the company is currently implementing new systems and reorganizing the group structure, it is important that you are flexible and adaptable to change.

Strong communication skills in English is a prerequisite, as the office language is English. For this position it is also a requirement that you understand Swedish fluently. Danish or Finnish would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
